The arms of the kingdom of France, being superior in feudal standing, occupied the 1st and 4th quarters of greatest honour. Each of them uses a different number of layers, and we must create all of them to avoid the game crashing. There are five templates available to use in the CoA. Template A Coat of Arms definition requires a template to be selected. Once you have strong claim or control over France, you can change your Coat of Arms to the one of King Edward III, who adopted the Royal Arms of France Azure semé of fleurs de lys or (powdering of fleurs-de-lis on a blue field) and quartered the Royal Arms of England – representing his claim to the French throne.
